Incentives to Upgrade HVAC Equipment


Upgrading to new energy-efficient heating and cooling equipment is a great way to reduce your carbon footprint while saving money and energy. And now seems like the time to finally do it!   

Online Rebates

Find special offers and rebates online using the ENERGY STAR Rebate Finder and the Database of State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency. Also check with your local power and gas providers for incentives to upgrade old, inefficient HVAC equipment, including Piedmont Natural Gas and Duke Energy.


Federal Home Energy Tax Credits

These tax credits are effective for products purchased and installed between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2032. Must be an existing home and your principal residence. New construction and rentals do not apply.

Air Source Heat Pumps:  30% of project cost up to $2,000

Central Air Conditioning:  30% of project cost up to $600

Furnace (Natural Gas, Oil):  30% of project cost up to $600
