Essential Workers: How To Say Thank You

We are all so grateful to all of the people on the frontlines of COVID-19: postal workers, firemen, store clerks, healthcare workers, EMT’s, auto mechanics, home builders, restaurant workers, our fellow HVAC workers, and many more. We hope you will join us in thanking all of them for providing us with essential services and supplies! Here are a few ideas:

Say Thank You

The easiest way to show gratitude is by simply saying thank you. Tell an essential worker what their time and effort means to you and your family during this trying time.

Cheer Them On

Some communities are doing a daily salute to healthcare workers by applauding, cheering, and honking horns during their shift change. Check local Facebook groups to see if this is happening in your neighborhood and join in!

Make Them Signs

Get your children in the spirit of gratitude and help them make signs of appreciation and support for essential workers. Place them in your car window, outside your home, or in a public place for them to see.

Buy Them Lunch

Rally your neighbors and family members to pitch in and have snacks or lunch delivered to your local police station, doctor‘s office, fire department, etc.

Check In On Their Families

Many essential workers are working longer hours to serve their community while their families are home. Check in on them. Offer to cook dinner, fold their laundry, or a shoulder to lean on. Anything to lighten the burden their household is carrying.

Mail Them A Card

Say thank you to an essential worker or local hero by sending them a free Hallmark greeting card!

Stay At Home

The best way to say thank you to essential workers is by staying safe at home so we can stop the spread of COVID-19. If you must get out, practice social distancing and wash your hands often.
