Don’t Be A Victim

Updated: Jul 26, 2022

More often than we like, we hear about people who have been ripped off by other heating and air conditioning companies. These scam artists give all HVAC contractors a bad rep and their actions effect our industry as a whole.

Whether you choose us or not, we want your home comfort experience to be a positive one. Start by following these tips:

  • Don’t be fooled by scare tactics or contractors that try to rush and pressure you into an expensive repair or replacement.

  • Get a second opinion. Most companies will provide a free second opinion on an estimate or diagnosis given by another contractor.

  • Check the Better Business Bureau, Google, Facebook , and other reputable sites for customer reviews.

  • Ask for recommendations from your family and friends.

  • Find out if your heating and air conditioning system has a parts or labor warranty available.

  • If applicable, make sure the HVAC company will honor your manufacturer’s parts coverage for ALL parts.

  • Always get proposed repairs, installations, and warranties in writing.

  • If replacing your equipment, make sure the company has a valid mechanical license with the appropriate state licensing board (NC or SC).

  • When buying a new HVAC system, check that all permits are obtained and inspections are performed by local code enforcement.

  • Find an HVAC company you like and establish a relationship so you can confidently trust them with your family’s comfort.
