Is your heating and air conditioning system ready for fall?
You love your heating and air conditioning system. It's been good to you all year. Now that fall is creeping in, are you ready? Is your HVAC ready? Take a look at four tips to prepare your HVAC for fall:
Tip #1: Don’t Neglect the Air Filter
When you switch from cooling to heating, don’t forget to check your air filter. It’s responsible for keeping your HVAC system free from dirt and debris that can cause damage and prevent proper airflow. As you prep for cooler weather, prep your HVAC system too by cleaning or replacing the air filter.
Tip #2: A Leak Can Wreck Your Day
Leaks in and around your HVAC system, including the vents and ducts, as well as leaks around doors and windows, can cause your home to lose heat. This makes your HVAC system less effective and much less efficient. Seal up the leaks and cracks to allow your heating system to start its winter job on the right foot.
Tip #3: Check the Outdoor Unit for Debris
If you have an outdoor unit as part of your HVAC system, now's the time to clean it and clear away any debris that can so often cause it to function poorly. This includes leaves, branches, and dirt. A clean unit is a happy unit and one that will work right for you this fall.
Tip #4: Call in the Pros
Just because your system is running well doesn't mean it doesn't need professional TLC. Schedule a fall maintenance visit now so your heating system gets cleaned, tuned up, adjusted, and calibrated to work effectively and efficiently, not only in the fall but through the winter as well.
