ADJUSTING YOUR AIRFLOW |
||||
|
Once you've moved into your new home, you may notice a dramatic difference in the airflow or temperature between certain rooms, or between your first and second floors. Do not be alarmed; there is nothing wrong with your system. To help regulate the airflow in your home, we have installed dampers in the attic duct runs. Dampers are not the same as the registers that you find in each room. If you have a two-story home, you will need to adjust the dampers twice a year: once for the heating season, and once for the cooling season. However, if you have a single-story home, you only need to adjust the dampers once to your satisfaction for each room. You can make further adjustments should your needs change. |

HEATING SEASON ADJUSTMENT
During the heating season, the dampers for the upstairs duct runs should be closed or nearly closed. This will force the heated air downstairs. As the heat rises, it will warm the upstairs rooms. To close the damper, turn the metal damper handle so that it is perpendicular to the flexible duct.
Our Service Department will gladly send a technician to your home the first time you need to adjust your dampers during your warranty period. He will show you exactly where your dampers are located and which duct runs supply the different rooms in your home.
